Hawks versus Bulls
On Monday night, Shawn and I attended the Hawks and Bulls game at Philips Arena. I was a ton of fun - even though the Hawks lost miserably! It was Bam-Bam night, which meant that we were issued inflatable sticks at the door. When beaten together, it sounds like pots and pans clanking! I loved it! :)

Falcons Beat Chargers!
Yesterday, Shawn and I attended the Atlanta Falcons versus San Diego Chargers professional (American) football game in the Georgia Dome! We were only two of approximately 70,000 people, who had come to watch the game. The seats were high up but perfect to catch all of the action! The Georgia Dome itself was very impressive and kept us from the cold and the wind outside. On the field and around the dome, were so many other things vying for our attention - cheerleaders, big screens, a live band, cameras, advertisements, mascots, even a live falcon flew into the stadium to kick off the game! On top of all the visual stimuli was the noise! The crowd really had an influence on the game that hurt the visiting team's offense tremendously in the fourth quarter. The food was about as expensive as we had expected, but the real disappointment was that they had no Heineken! At halftime, Travis Tritt sang an awful song, which he as a Georgia native had written himself, entitled "Falcons Fever". Two thumbs down! Somehow though, the Falcons came from behind with two touchdowns in the fourth quarter to win 21-20 against the Chargers. It was really exciting, and I enjoyed my first professional football game very much! Go Falcons! :)

I have to agree about the Falcons Fever song. It sucked so bad that I'm not sure how the Falcons overcame its stankness in the second half. It's one of those annoying songs that gets stuck in your head no matter how hard you try to get rid of it. Falcons Fever! True Believer! Utter crap! It is still ringing in my ears... I'm going to go MAD!!
FalconsFever does suck and I'm glad we won... Those were the good days!!! :( Now, going 6-2, then 2-6 is more FalconsLike... :(
Go Falcons!! Bucs Suck!

Atlanta Beads
On Tuesday, my friend Amy invited me to join her book club at Atlanta Beads in the Highlands. It was really FUN! During the two and a half hours we were there, we could each make a necklace, a bracelet or earrings, and we paid for the supplies that we used. The owner was there to help us the entire time, and she was very patient and kind. Amy's friends even brought pizza, salad, beverages and wine. It was so nice to be creative and socialize at the same time. The two pairs of earrings that I made are a wonderful souvenir of the evening. :)
